Current Priorities

Although we have completed our short intensive language study, we continue to focus on language learning in our city as there is still much Arabic to learn to be able to share effectively! As we settle into the hospital city, we’re seeking where we can best focus our time and share His love. We hope that through our interactions in medical circles and in supporting the nursing school, we’re able to be Salt and Light in all our relationships. As well, we seek to support those around us who are living intentionally in our country and elsewhere.

Vision

Develop friendships with the local people and through spiritual conversations introduce them to the redemptive story of Jesus Christ. We long to see a movement amongst our LRPG of Jesus followers who are Christ‐centred, Spirit‐empowered, and mission‐focused.

Bio

Rebecca grew up overseas as a TCK and, as such, was exposed to the gospel and the work of God in the world. She came to a saving faith at a young age and, as she grew and studied, sensed God calling her to live intentionally in a cross-cultural context. Prior to her current posting, she completed the Apprenticeship program in the Sand region and a Master’s degree in development. Ian grew up in Canada and was similarly exposed to the gospel in childhood, coming to a saving faith at a young age. Through various overseas experiences before and during his medical training, Ian began to sense the call to serve cross-culturally in North Africa. With these independent callings, Ian and Rebecca have moved towards the goal of serving in this way as Ian completed his specialty medical training. We are serving in a hospital in this region with the goal of being salt and light in the community in which we live and work.

Prayer Requests

Pray for us as we continue to learn Arabic, that we would be able to share His story effectively in their heart language.

Pray that through our care we’re able to demonstrate His love for each person we interact with, patient or staff.

Pray for wisdom in selecting and growing close family relationships, that through them we’d see whole families come to know Him.
