Project Description
The Brave Heart project is a compassion ministry that works in collaboration with the local church in Mexico City. Prioritizing opportunities for local Mexican and Indigenous leadership, we long to see the whole gospel preached to the whole person so that every tribe, tongue, nation, and people can call on the name of the Lord (Psalm 9:9-10; Luke 4:18-19; Revelation 7:9-10). We desire that indigenous families would know the tenderness of Jesus in all aspects of their lives. We long to see vibrant communities where reconciliation of all things to God is the basis for a healthy life.
We approach these families with a posture of mercy and justice—a desire to walk with them in their immediate need and seek justice through long-term solutions. Educational support is an essential piece of the long-term solution to deeply-rooted poverty and addiction. The Brave Heart team currently visits families and offers weekly homework help & literacy classes, with the dream of working closer with parents in the future. Join us in our mission that there will be love for each community, dignity for each family, and hope for each person through these opportunities to grow academically, spiritually, and emotionally.
The Brave Heart project is not new. Much fruit has been harvested from years of ministering to indigenous families. As the Mexico team plays a role in the mobilization of the Mexico church to make Jesus known within and beyond the borders of Mexico, The Brave Heart project dovetails beautifully with the charge Jesus gave his followers to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19)
