On June 8, 2026, a devastating earthquake of magnitude 7.8 struck the Philippines, impacting the provinces of South Cotabato and Sarangani. The earthquake has caused significant damage to homes, churches, schools, and community infrastructure - leaving many families displaced and in urgent need of relief and facing shortages of essential supplies.
Among the most affected areas are three districts of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Churches of the Philippines. The Alliance Canada is responding by supporting the local Alliance churches in the Philippines to strengthen their relief efforts as they actively serve their communities and help alleviate the suffering of affected families. Through these relief efforts, the churches are meeting urgent needs and bringing hope to those impacted in their communities.
Would you prayerfully consider joining us in this effort, as we stand in solidarity with the Philippine Alliance churches? Financial contributions will be directed toward providing food, clean water, shelter, and medical assistance to those affected. As we come alongside these churches, together we can hold the banner of hope high above the devastation and help gather people from the nations.
"We will rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners! May the Lord fulfill all your petitions." ~ Psalm 20:5
Would you join us in praying that the Lord will fulfill the petitions of those facing vulnerability in the aftermath of the earthquake - and that the banners lifted high through the meeting of their needs will draw many to rejoice in the salvation of our God!
