At Assembly this past summer, we committed to doubling our reach internationally and nationally by 2034.
For the next ten years, we're trusting Jesus to work in and through us as we focus on our growth drivers of prayer, leaders, ministries, and stewardship.
How the Lord will accomplish this remains to be seen, but ours is to be a people of hope, obedience and courageous faithfulness as we trust his good work in and through us.
With this foundation in mind, I can't help but imagine at times.
There currently 160,000 people engaged with Alliance churches here in Canada. I imagine 320,000 people engaging with us by 2034.
Last year, our international work served 65 least-reached people groups. Can you imagine reaching 130 least-reached people groups with the Gospel in ten years?
Now, this isn't just about counting attendance or statistics. What if we doubled the number of empowered and equipped leaders?
I've been wondering these days, might the Lord allow us to identify, equip, and release 3,000 new trained pastors?
What if twice as many people were lifted from poverty or vulnerable people rescued from exploitation through our ministries?
We want a double portion of the Spirit to see the Gospel increasingly transform us, and to see our world reached with his Good News.
The reality is, as we're faithfully trusting Jesus to provide and accomplish his mission, we need a strong, sustainable financial base to accomplish things like this.
Our faith goal for the Global Advance Fund this year is just over $14 million.
At the time of this filming, we're currently at around 74%, so we're looking to raise 3.6 million by the end of this year.
That's a big number and we are on track to raise it. But I can't help but wonder, Lord, might we not only make our budget, but what if the collected offering exceeded our budget by 1 or 2 million?
Friends, I am praying the Lord would move us towards what would seem to the world as irrational generosity for the name and fame of Jesus Christ.
The Spirit has given us a bold vision, and it also requires faithful and bold generosity. I don't know what the Lord has planned, but I am excited and I wonder what he might be asking of us in our financial generosity.
As I've shared before, thank you for your trust and your confidence, but even more so, your participation.
Not just with your treasure, but also your time and talents towards making Jesus more famous each and every day.
I so love our church family.
And so from me, Naomi, our family to yours, with the peace of Christ palpably be upon you as we enter into this next chapter, This new year, coming very soon.
