Bio
Paulo and Phoebe met at Ambrose University in Calgary, AB and were married in 2008. They lived in Calgary and Edmonton before being commissioned to serve in the Silk Road region with their two young daughters.
Phoebe was born and raised in Edmonton. Her parents were immigrants from Hong Kong who helped plant a church in Edmonton. She accepted Christ as a child and had a dramatic experience of God’s love for her when she was a teenager.
Paulo was born in Bolivia and raised in Guatemala. He was raised in a non-Christian home by immigrant Taiwanese parents, but he became a believer in university through Alliance international workers in Guatemala.
Paulo and Phoebe discerned the call to serve while at Ambrose University. Phoebe had a dream in which she was on a train, surrounded by a specific people group; in the dream, she asked God how to reach them. In the dream, God responded, “Just love them.”
Their favourite aspect of being international workers is experiencing God in fresh ways while immersed in a different culture, as well as telling others how to be a follower of Jesus through word and action.
