Silk Region

Current Priorities

Developing a stable and strong school for the children of IWs who would be free to minister to the social and spiritual needs of the many unreached people groups in this region. Discipling and equipping the children of IWs to influence their world for Christ.

Least-Reached People Group

We work with a unique group of LRPG’s called the Kazakhstani.

To partner with IWs in the education of their children physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually so they make become faithful and fruitful disciples and effective disciple makers.

Hans attended a Christian school in Hong Kong and he was saved in high school through an evangelistic meeting at school. He sensed God’s call to missions at a Joint Missions Conference in 1981 in Regina. After receiving his Bachelor of Education at the University of Regina, he had a desire to serve Missionary Kids (MKs) but it would be more years of preparation before that dream would be realized. Ruth was born into a Christian family and received Christ when she was 10. She sensed God’s call to full time ministry when she was 14 at a Chinese Youth Winter Conference. She felt that teaching would enable her to serve anywhere in the world. Hans and Ruth met at Canadian Theological Seminary, and after more graduate studies and serving in a local church, God sent them to minister to the children of international workers (IWs) at Dalat School, Malaysia, Black Forest Academy, Germany, and currently at Tien Shan International School, Kazakhstan.

Prayer Requests

Pray for long-term faculty and staff who are called to serve Third Culture Kids and the children of international workers. Pray for open hearts in the people of Kazakhstan to the true knowledge of Jesus Christ. Pray for our adult children as they transition to life in North America that they would love God wholly and love others as themselves.
