Gary and Sharon Howell

Current Priorities

Gary and Sharon are team leaders for the Canadian Alliance workers in Senegal. Their team is involved in a variety of ministries and projects sharing through practical ways the love of Jesus among the Wolof and the Fulbe people.

Vision

Gary and Sharon long to see the Kingdom of God take root and flourish among the Wolof and Fulbe peoples of Senegal, shaping lives, communities, and future generations.

Bio

Gary made a commitment to Christ at a young age in Sunday School. But it was during his early teen years, while reading Romans 2:4, that he realized God’s patience and love for him and recommitted his life to Christ. His call to missions was confirmed during his short-term mission trips.

Sharon grew up in Africa and had many opportunities to see her parents make a difference in the lives of the people in Gabon. At a young age, she realized that she needed to make a personal decision to follow Jesus.

After twenty-four years of ministry in Gabon and the Republic of Congo, Gary and Sharon sensed God inviting them into a new chapter—one that would lead them to the Wolof and Fulbe peoples of West Africa. In 2016 they relocated to Dakar, Senegal, where they now serve as team leaders. Their team seeks to bring God’s Kingdom among the Wolof and Fulbe peoples through a variety of initiatives that open doors for relationship and transformation.
